Oilseeds
Viterra Hungary is a market leader in Hungarian oilseed trade. Our annual turnover of almost a million tons is primarily made up of the sunflower seed and rapeseed purchases we make to supply our oilseed crush plant in Foktő. This significant demand enables us to make quotations continuously and competitively.
The primary buyers of our main and side products are the food biodiesel and feed industries and following further refining of the product, the cooking oil industry.
By tailoring our contracts to the needs of our partners (spot/futures contracts with terms for the goods to be made available at the seller’s site or to be delivered to our site) and offering flexible logistics, we are an ideal buyer for all industry participants, from domestic producers to international trading companies. Besides our domestic processing operations we are also active in export markets and we import significant quantity of oilseeds from neighbouring countries.
Grains
For years, Viterra Hungary has had an important role in the origination and marketing of grains (corn, wheat, barley and sorghum) produced in Hungary.
Besides maintaining the volume of our exports we also place special emphasis on satisfying a growing domestic demand: we seek the best solutions by tailoring our offers to our partners’ needs.
Our existing storage facilities (in Foktő, Gyomaendrőd, Debrecen, and Berettyóújfalu) and our rented storage capacity make a significant contribution to successfully nourishing the long-term relationships we have established with our partners.
Vegetable Oils
Viterra Hungary markets, and in its Foktő plant produces, sunflower seed oil, rapeseed oil and soybean oil, which are primarily sold to the feed and biodiesel industries and, after refining, to the food industry.
In a continuous effort to meet the quality demands of our customers, we make sure that the quality of the vegetable oils we produce fully complies with both Hungarian and international demands as well as stringent food and feed safety requirements. Placing great emphasis on predictability, we offer the possibility of both spot and futures transactions, with highly flexible deliveries due to our reliable logistics background.
Sunflower Husk and Meal
Viterra Hungary is a regional leader in the production and marketing of protein meals. Our Foktő oilseed crush plant provides our partners with a continuous supply of meals of the highest quality available on the market.
Thanks to our nationwide network, we offer highly economical logistics solutions to our partners and provide the best shipping conditions for all parties.

Trade in refined oils
Viterra Hungary operates a vegetable oil refinery in Foktő and markets refined sunflower seed oil and rapeseed oil in bulk in the region. Our products are used by our partners as raw materials in the food industry, or sold as bottled cooking oil. Thanks to our significant experience in the international markets, we can provide services of a high standard to our existing and future partners, while complying the most stringent food industry standards and the quality assurance systems of our customers.
